From what I understand, housing has a lot less to do with the federal government and more to do with your municipal and even provincial government. If you are keen on housing improvements, make sure to check with your local mlas and what they have planned for housing. More tangible results will come from there first.

You can splurge the extra 100-200 bucks and have a power head compatible vacuum, a great warranty, and easy to repair for 20+ years. Hopefully my E3 lasts the rest of my life.

Can’t or won’t run on solar, wind, and batteries? Alberta is widely regarded as an effective province for solar, and southern Alberta already has great wind options.
Smith is actively working against renewables. I could understand if we tried to expand either and it didn’t pan out but it’s getting stopped before it starts.
It’d probably be better to put a lot of the R&D money into improving and reinforcing public transport systems. Taking cars off the road and separating cars from pedestrians makes a bigger difference than automating driving.

I don’t think I’ll ever comprehend why alternatives to driving are never explored properly. I think roads or equivalents have to be so much more expensive to construct and maintain than a rail.
Heck even a roundabout once in a while helps with traffic flow from what I’ve seen.
