I’m in there, I feel closer to Millenial than Gen X but not quite full Millenial. Think it’s also referred to as the Oregon Trail generation, due to it being a common early PC game to play in class when they taught us computers. I still remember first seeing the trash bin on a Macintosh grow fat when it had items in it, I thought it was awesome, years before Windows.

I’ve lived where tap water tasted like shit, not quite literally but eveytime I went home I’d have to remember not to drink the tap water. Eventually that town got a better water treatment plant but I can sort of see it from that angle. We always had the big 4gallon jugs (again may not be correct but the bigger jugs that sit on top for a dispenser) for regular drinking water

Thankfully where I moved to (many many kms away) the tap water was awesome, don’t live there now but I still do tap water over filtered for the most part. Never seems that much worse so may as well.

Really the only reason you’d drink the other tap water was cause you’re hungover…also been there. Then you remember that there’s a water dispenser somewhere in that house cause no one drank the water from the tap in the town. Even the better water wasn’t great but still noticably improved.

It may be less effective but you use it till the bottle is done, it’s not like milk it still works.

The bottle on my shelf has 350 (new, Costco brand) but I don’t take over the recommended dose for obvious reasons. Guess it expired last year now that I look heh. The smaller bottles cost more per dose so no reason not buy a larger one. This is in Canada, not the US for people curious about other countries.

I think it could work in a similar way that Detroit Become Human did, basically a story with some impactful choices to make replayability but it’d be more difficult if they restricted it to a single person which those stories usually do, so maybe an Agatha Christie style get together of perspectives without a way to leave. Maybe close to Amnesia but I didn’t make it far in that one, I get nervous in those games lol.

Edit if someone implements the game from this idea I’ll gladly accept a free copy. Though to be fair I’ll probably buy one on a steam sale anyways.

I think that’s my favourite Lovecraftian type movie. It took me till years (maybe a couple decades) later to learn of Lovecraft and then I realized exactly why I enjoyed it so much.

The show lasted longer than the war did, and not nearly at the same years. Added the second bit for people who may not know. When I was young I’m pretty sure I thought it was much closer in time than it was, but it was like early 90s going to smartphones in time difference, or like a someone being born to growing to the drinking age in the US time difference from end of war to start of show. Not exact but gives an idea.

Not correcting just adding, but I always enjoy thinking of time differences for things. The world changes quickly sometimes, except when you’re waiting.

Have never watched it all but did a few runs of the earlier seasons, great show and she definitely helped it be one.

Carry definitely has good options too, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and I don’t think he went all funny guy in The Number 23, I recall I enjoyed it but very litte else about it.

Edit: Oh of course Truman Show but that goes without saying.

I always give Stranger Than Fiction as an example to see Will Ferrall do a non-usual comedy movie, I enjoyed it anyways. Some people can’t stand his usual schitck which I can understand. Though I do enjoy the studiest of comedy and he can nail that genre, but I do think it takes talent/skill to pull it off as well as he does.

Sometimes you may not have a choice with who fights you. I recall once in Calgary a few decided to try and fight our group and we just disengaged, but if they were adament about fighting there was little we could do. It was quite random and we’d were in our middle teens and don’t think we said anything first but it’s going back like 30 years so recollection is hazy. I think we were just walking around in the evening is all.

So people just are looking for a fight and maybe our disinterest curbed their desire but I have no doubt there are others who wouldn’t be curbed by that and just want to beat on people.

I do agree with the general sentiment but sometimes even if you do everything correctly the wrong outcome happens.

Have you ever seen such a schlubby looking President? Like his arms are down, shoulders as down as far they can be. Of course he’s not doing the accordion hands thing which is sort of a plus for him. That suit looks like off the rack too, I bet he gets them tailored that way heh. He sort of looks like he’s giving an 8th grade presentation for his class.

I will say it’s highly probable this picture was chosen for those attributes, but it’s not like his content or speaking skills would make it better than what is captured in an image. So I’m guessing the image captures the essence of the speech.

I agree, I was saddened that they were forced back, they did a strike at a time that would have good impact but just got everything pushed back. I hope they can come to a mutual agreement that supports people providing an essential service throughout our country. Even if I get a slight inconvenience, and I may not think I depend on it much I can see how crucial it is.

I do not, no proof. If there was a god such as in the Bible why give us reasoning abilities when they give no proof? And if so, then I put forward the idea that if there is such a god, they don’t care if we believe so why bother?. Not to go all gamer but like the Sims, they made us and took out the pool ladder and saw what happened.

If there is a god that has such powers and cares, well fuck them cause they ain’t helping us it seems. If they are well we’re too far off course for it to matter, this playthrough is spiraling and it doesn’t matter if we believe or not cause we may be circling the drain.

So seems easier not to believe because if you do it’s more depressing.

I’ll have a beer in your name tomorrow. My gf and I are watching through Cheers currently,only season 2 and it’s all nostalgia. To be fair we don’t really remember most of these early episodes but every episode feels like watching TV with my parents in the 80s to me.

And that’s why you don’t think when Superman solves something, he’s nearly as fast as the Flash, he could have half the city’s crimes taken care of in a few minutes without worrying about a random inconvenience that trips up the Flash.

Actors who always commit to their roles! It’s always a pleasure to see them, especially when you see them go from very serious to comedy in various parts. Tom Hanks was fantastic in the 80s when he was comedy but he seems to do more serious roles since then. Also why Saturday Night Live skits can be awesome when such actors are guest starting.

Pretty sure it is, cause I always think of Charlie and Martin when his name comes up, yes I know not related just sticks due to last name.
